Kevin Vernooy
Professor
Prof. Kevin Vernooy became a medical docter in 2003 at the Maastricht University. He finished his PhD in 2006 on cardiac resynchronisation therapy at Maastricht University. In 2012, he finished his Cardiology training and subspecialiation in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias as an clinical electrophysiologist at Maastricht UMC+
Since 2012, he has been working at Maastricht UMC+ as a clinical electrophysiologist. Since 2014, he has been heading the divion of clinical electrophysiology in the Department of Cardiology and since 2018 the research on cardiac arrhythmias at the Department of Cardiology at the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen.
His research focusses on the invasive treatment of cardiac arrhythmias in patients with heart failure.
In 2020, he became a Professor in clinical electrophysiology entitled “Electrical management of heart failure”. Since March 2021, he has been chairing the head of department of cardiology at the MUMC+ and leader of the Division Heart at CARIM.
